Memorial Day Ceremony

The community gathered on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, to pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in service to our country.

2025 Event Details

Ceremony

The ceremony will include remarks from Commander Jeff Noble, Dublin City Council Member John Reiner, keynote speaker Jody Davids and music by the Dublin Coffman High School Marching Band.

The general public is invited and encouraged to attend. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs for your comfort. Free parking is available at Dublin Community Church and additional parking can be found throughout Historic Dublin.

Keynote Speaker, Jody Davids

Jody Davids, a former Dublin resident and Gold Star mother, lost her oldest son, Wesley, a US Marine, in Iraq in 2005. Wesley graduated from Dublin Scioto High School in 2003 and served with Lima Company. Her second son, Steven, also joined the Marines and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Having a heart for those who have served our nation, Jody serves on the Board of the National Veteran’s Leadership Foundation. Jody retired from her role as Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer of PepsiCo. She has over 40 years of experience leading and developing technology for large companies. Prior to joining PepsiCo in 2016, Jody was CIO for Agrium Inc. and over the course of her career, she led at Best Buy, Cardinal Health, Nike, Inc., and Apple Computer, Inc. She actively serves as an executive coach and an independent director for Premier Inc. and Paymentus.

Dublin Connector

The Dublin Connector bus will operate during the 2025 Memorial Day Ceremony. Dublin residents age 55 or older and individuals with disabilities can call 1.833.742.7333 to schedule a ride.

  • One caregiver may join the rider and must be included in the reservation.
  • Pickup/drop-off location: Dublin Cemetery, 83 W. Bridge St.

The Dublin Connector is sponsored by the City of Dublin and operated by SHARE Mobility. To use the Dublin Connector, riders must create a SHARE Mobility account. Trips must be booked at least two hours in advance and can be scheduled through the SHARE Mobility app, the Dublin Connector website, or by calling 1.833.742.7333. Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Dublin Cemetery. Additional parking is available at the Dublin Community Church and along Monterey Drive.

Accessible Seating

Shaded accessible seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis under a white tent in front of the podium at the Memorial Day Ceremony. If you need additional chairs during the ceremony, please see any City of Dublin employee for assistance.

ASL Interpreter

American Sign Language interpreters will be provided during the Memorial Day Ceremony.

Restrooms

There are no restrooms at the Dublin Cemetery. However, accessible portable restrooms will be available at Monterey Park.

The Dublin Arts Council, in partnership with the City of Dublin, will host the Eyes of Freedom exhibit Memorial Day week, honoring fallen service members, including L.Cpl. Wesley Davids.

The outdoor exhibit at Riverside Crossing Park runs May 26–29, open dawn to dusk.
