The City of Dublin held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Grounds of Remembrance on Nov. 11, 2021. Local veterans, students, City Council members and community members were on hand to honor the sacrifices made by service members.

First called Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I, the federal holiday’s name changed to Veterans Day in 1954 and honors all who have served in the U.S. military.

The ceremony included remarks from Commander Jeff Noble, Council Member and U.S. Army veteran John Reiner, and keynote speaker U.S. Army veteran John Lane who served in the Army from 1982 to 1988 as a maintenance test pilot for helicopters.

The Dublin Wind Symphony and students from John Sells Middle School provided music.

Thank you to all who attended and shared their appreciation for our nation’s veterans. Save the date for next year’s ceremony, scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2022.
